Commitment
Scottsville Pool is committed to ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment for all its members, guests and the community.
Yes, there is a swimming pool in Scottsville! It is one of the best kept secrets in the area. We are tucked away in a big hay field off Route 20 in Albemarle County, approximately three miles north of the town of Scottsville. Look for our sign! We are a great facility for summertime fun.
We are Scottsville Recreation, Inc., a member-owned swimming and recreation facility encompassing a large, 115,000 gallon swimming pool, a baby pool with its own safety fence and play area, a comfortable, shaded pavilion with oversized picnic tables, snack bar, changing facility, swings, volleyball court, basketball court and more.
At the heart of our facility is the large, community-sized pool. There are easy-to-use stairs in the shallow end, and a diving board in the 12 ft. deep diving well. The pool water is meticulously cleaned and well-maintained. During business hours, we are staffed with Red Cross Certified lifeguards.
We are a non-profit, member-owned organization. As a member-owned facility we are dependent on both membership dues and volunteerism for our operations, maintenance, and improvements. Members agree to volunteer work at the facility when they apply for membership. Once you join, you will be openly welcomed to the pool community and will be contacted to see how you can help out at the pool.
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, color, sex, age, or disability.
All of our members pitch in to make sure we keep a safe, attractive, and friendly environment. Kids truly love it here. If you are looking for a casual, safe, fun environment for yourself and your family, then the Scottsville Pool is for you!
We encourage you to join us for a summer of pool enjoyment.
The Board of Directors is a group of volunteers who meet regularly throughout the year to help keep the pool a safe and fun place to be. These individuals are NOT the 'owners' nor 'in charge'. The Board of Directors is a group that coordinates work, activities, hiring and training of lifeguards, oversees maintenance and volunteer work.
